Asansol girl Jahnavi wins ₹1 lakh merit scholarship

There is a reason for cheer in Asansol’s Sardapally. Jahnavi Sharma, a resident of the locality, has been awarded a ₹1 lakh merit scholarship by The Assam Valley School for securing the highest Annual Aggregate in the Class XI examinations for the 2025–26 academic session.

The school, in a letter congratulated Jahnavi on her academic performance and announced the scholarship in recognition of her achievement.
The scholarship amount will be adjusted against her school fees for the 2026–27 academic session, according to the school.
Jahnavi’s achievement has brought pride to her family and Sardapally, with the news drawing appreciation across Asansol’s industrial belt. Her success is also being seen as an encouraging example for young students in the region.
